“I must have flowers, always & always.” — Claude Monet
There are moments that feel less like reality and more like a painting come to life. Set at The Estate at Cherokee Dock, one of Nashville’s most sought-after luxury wedding venues, this garden wedding editorial was a tribute to the soft light and organic beauty of Impressionism.
Conceived by Sophie Kaye Photography and East Made Co., the concept draws inspiration from the legendary works of Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, and Berthe Morisot. The result was a pastel wedding palette defined by organic movement and layered, painterly details that felt both refined and effortless.
The Art of Photographing a Feeling
Ive always been drawn to impressionism: the way it captures a feeling more than a precise moment. In my work as a destination wedding photographer, I strive for that same quality. It is less about technical perfection and more about how light, color, and atmosphere converge to tell a story.
Capturing this editorial was deeply meaningful to me. Every element was intentionally styled to appear natural and uncontrived, allowing the camera to focus on the soft transitions of light that make a garden wedding feel truly magical.

A Living Landscape: Floral Design and Textures
The floral design by Nava Floral was the heart of the narrative. Featuring garden roses and seasonal blooms arranged in a loose, airy style, the decor echoed the feeling of a living landscape. Nothing felt overly structured; instead, it looked as if the flowers belonged exactly where they were, blooming in harmony with the Nashville spring.
To enhance the softness, silk ribbons by Emma Lin Co. added subtle movement throughout the day, catching the light in a way that felt ethereal and poetic.

Ethereal Fashion for the Romantic Bride
For the fashion, we focused on gowns by Marchesa, selected for their fluid silhouettes and intricate detailing. They are the perfect choice for a bride seeking a romantic garden wedding aesthetic that remains feminine and timeless.
Paired with Bella Belle shoes, fine jewelry by Andria Barbone, and delicate accessories by Twigs & Honey, the styling was light and sophisticated. The hair and makeup by Caitlyn Meyer complemented this approach with a soft, natural finish, ensuring the bride looked radiant yet effortless.

Curated Tablescapes and Artisanal Details
The reception setting incorporated La Tavola linens alongside curated pieces from Locust Collection and Curated Behavior. This created a tactile, layered environment that balanced high-end elegance with a sense of approachability.
The finishing touches—handwritten details by Shotgunning for Love and confections by Trouvaille Bakery—added a refined, artisanal quality that is essential for a luxury wedding experience.

As a destination wedding photographer, I approached this editorial with a focus on natural light, texture, and subtle movement. There’s no painter I love more than Monet so I enjoyed this shoot immensely.
For brides who are drawn to soft pastels, impressionist art, or a romantic garden wedding aesthetic, this design offers a perspective that feels both elevated and deeply personal. Something timeless, yet unique.
