When you have an outdoor wedding, you always have to have Plan B. So many couples do not want to think of a backup plan or don’t even want to plan at all. That’s why having a wedding planning team who is going to adapt to weather circumstances and is still going to deliver a beautiful and thoughtful wedding design for your Villa La Joya wedding is key.

This was the case for Rima & Sevak’s wedding, which took place on a rainy summer day in Villa La Joya. My team and I have had many rainy weddings, so we always arrive completely prepared and know how to adapt to unexpected weather. We have to make quick, well-thought-out adjustments to the timeline in accordance with the Wedding Planner while trying to respect the timeline as much as possible, and making sure our couple is having a good experience.

On Rima and Sevak’s wedding day we did have to make some adjustments. Like having the majority of their Getting Ready and Bride & Groom Portraits inside. I do think that choosing a venue like Villa La Joya, with beautiful indoor and outdoor areas is so important. Because in this case, shooting indoors didn’t take away from the beauty of the portraits. With its gorgeous staircase and hallways, we were able to create so many beautiful images for our couple. And of course, in Riviera Maya 99% of the time the rain is intermittent, so we did have a chance to take many outdoor photos too!

The people who really shined for their hard work was the Villa Planners team, who created a beautiful design that was gorgeous yet protected everyone from the rain by tenting the whole ceremony and reception. And the reception was lighted exquisitely!

At the end of the day, Rima and Sevak had a beautiful, beautiful wedding. I loved their attitude towards the weather, and I think so many couples have to see this as an example. Unexpected things happen at weddings. Your mindset is crucial. Your wedding celebration is about having a good time, enjoying the little moments with your loved ones, and not worrying what might not have gone 100% according to plan.  But hiring good wedding vendors, who will do everything to make it better, helps too!

I’m so thrilled to show you this stylish wedding at one of my favorite wedding venues in Riviera Maya: Villa La Joya.
